Sometimes I think we hold Malawi to a standard higher than we hold ourselves.

We criticise a great many things about this country but in truth we, my self included, are hypocritical in our assessments as we can find a lot the things we criticise within ourselves.

Among the things I personally complain about are, Malawians being late, lack of proactivity, financial illiteracy, procrastination, bad service to name a few. The irony is I've displayed these very same characteristics on many occasions.

While the people who have plundered our resources and misled us for years can not be exempted from the role they've played in our collective behaviour as a nation, I think it's lazy and convinient almost to always point the finger at them. What they do wrong is clear . . .
