i think smtn we as fans need to become more mindful of is pushing our own negative thoughts and/or insecurities on those that we stan. it’s such an unhealthy mentality to live in, and it victimizes them in instances that they genuinely wouldn’t be considered victims.
what i mean by that is maybe you noticed x member got picked last for smtn in a video, n bc YOU feel some type of neg emotion toward that, it’s then tweeted “fuck i hope x doesn’t feel unworthy of love and left out bc they were picked last :(“ n it’s like ???
in life, sometimes we get picked last, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that we’re a victim of smtn in that specific moment, maybe we we’re jus... picked last. maybe x member didn’t even give it a second thought but now there’s a hashtag bc other people feel bad for them?
bc yea, in this industry, things like numbers matter—but they matter in specific places like chart rankings n sales. they dnt matter as much when 5 members have the same type of video out n someone happens to have the last amount of views. their value isn’t diminished bc of that.
my point is i understand no one wants the short end of the stick—especially when it feels constant. n i absolutely understand wanting your fav to feel loved bc they deserve it! but pls healthily recognize when they’re actually being slighted or when you just dislike the result.
