Everyone is talking about #AKvsAK, a @VikramMotwane film about @anuragkashyap72 making a film on kidnapping @AnilKapoor’s daughter @sonamakapoor. If that wasn't mind-bending enough, here is a thread on the most interesting #FunFacts on this film, without too many spoilers 👇
Originally the movie #AKvsAK was called AKvsSK, with @shahidkapoor playing the title role opposite @shahidkapoor, where the original story had Anurag kidnapping Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Rajput as bait to get him to say ‘yes’ to a film project.

Magar afsos, dates ke kaaran..🙏
Anurag Kashyap and Anil Kapoor’s friendship goes all the way back to @anuragkashyap72's first film - Paanch (2000), where Anil Kapoor gave the muhurat shot. See if you can spot @VikramMotwane and @mehtahansal, Tejaswini Kolhapure, PadminiKolhapure among others.
The premise of the movie #AkvsAK begins with the fact that @anuragkashyap72 and @AnilKapoor were supposed to work together way back in 2003 on Alwyn Kalicharan, a dystopian sci-fi detective drama set in Delhi with Anil in the titular role, but the film was never made.
At one time, @iamsrk was rumoured to replace @AnilKapoor on the film but nothing came of it.

#FunFact: The title was a play on the name of the popular refrigerator brand Allwyn.

A poster was doing the rounds too but seems like they just reused Anil's image from Musafir?
#FunFact: Unrelated but there was a West Indian cricketer named Alwyn Kalicharan. who incidentally was awarded the 1983 Wisden Cricketer of the year, the same year India won the World Cup.
AKvsAK begins with @Su4ita interviewing them at @MumbaiFilmFest where Anil reminiscences about his first shot with Yash Chopra & Dilip Kumar in Mashaal.
There is a really clever scene at the police station where @AnilKapoor is a “real actor looking to file a complaint about his kidnapped daughter but no one in the police station takes him seriously”. A great throwback to @anuragkashyap72's Ugly.
Similarly, there are many scenes that are reminiscent of other films of @anuragkashyap72 & @VikramMotwane.
There is a long chase sequence shot across the railway station and on the train, a replicating the epic chase sequence from @VikramMotwane's under-appreciated #BhaveshJoshi
In fact, @HarshKapoor_ plays a hilarious cameo, where he screams” let’s make Bhavesh Joshi 2/ Motwane fucked me with Bhavesh”.
The movie has more than its fair share of throwbacks including @AnilKapoor's famous fist thumping dance from “My name is Lakhan” (Ram Lakhan, 1989).
The movie drops actors' names like it's a freaking South Bombay influencer, including references to the Toms—Cruise, Hanks, and Hardy.

But our favorite is this description of #AKvsAK by @Anurag himself: “the first realistic film with a superstar not directed by Shyam Benegal".
Watch the film #AKvsAK and let us know what you think.

We leave you with a #FunFact on the lesser-known AK: @annukapoor_.
Annu Kapoor's real name is Anil Kapoor. When they both acted in Tezaab, Annu Kapoor agreed to change his name from Anil Kapoor to help both their careers.
