i said i wouldn't be discoursey on here but i just wanna

being a DID/OSDD1 system isn't about the alters. that's not the primary feature even though it's the most well-known one. it's the sheer amount of dissociation. that's why people go decades of their life before -
- realizing they're a system, because they know they struggle with dissociation but don't realize that dissociation is structured in a way that creates alters. not everyone does this, but i notice a LOT of endos treat being a system like it's an identity-based thing. -
- similar to like being trans or something where you do some self-introspection and end up at "huh yeah i feel like my identity could be described as multiple people". whether or not endos exist this is where a huge difference between traumagenics and endogenics come in imo. -
- ofc this doesn't take into account traumagenic systems repressing or denying their trauma and mistaking themselves as endogenic, which is yet another reason why i'm not a fan of the concept of identity-based systems and trauma-based systems sharing a community and -
- it's terminology so closely. DID/OSDD1 are literally designed to hide depersonalize your trauma from you, *that's the whole point of the disorders*. so introducing a concept of accepting that disguise and depersonalization as fact is pretty uhhhhhhhhhhh!
anyways those are my 6am thoughts because i just wanted to get that off my chest
