This is what happens when we have heavy rain. Water arrives via a storm drain carrying road road off, rushes through the Valley, enters Boundary Brook, and continues down into Florence Park. By holding more water on the fen, we hope to reduce flooding.

The recently dredged settlement, or interception pond at the head of the Valley is once more doing its job of slowing the flow. The leaky dams we've installed slow it even more. The slower the flow, the less damage such huge volumes of water do downstream from us.
Moving to the southern end of the Valley, you can see how effective our leaky dams are in slowing the flow of the water. The more water we can keep on the fen, and the longer we can hold it, the less damage it should do in e.g. Florence Park.
