Important to bear in mind two things:
1. Resources have already been moved from other parts of the NHS to cover ICU so other areas are already struggling.
2. The NHS struggles every winter without Covid. Imagine removing 50% of that capacity (which is what Covid has done).

The best example a health worker said to me on only having 6 spare ICU beds in Aneurin Bevan was - what if there is suddenly a three car pile up on the M4 near Magor?
