like tell me an interesting thing about Captain Marvel's CHARACTER (not superpower) based on the movie. I can't. And I mostly liked the movie, I like Brie Larson. Do I like Captain Marvel as a movie character? Not really so far, she was Marvel Wit Machine and that's it.
the op said you can tell the same thing about the other male characters but no you don't. Tony's has a THING, like he has PTSD and stuff. Star-Lord has mommy issues and stuff. something that makes these characters interesting. Captain Marvel is just bland so far imho.
oh yeaaaah, she was gaslighted or something or amnesia.. because the movie is about gaslighting or something... yeah maybe wasn't the best idea to introduce a new character this way in hindsight, because in most of the movie, even the protagonist doesn't know who she is
also, when you see the beginning of Iron Man, Tony is a rich playboy who is cocky and also a bad dude who sells war, so his cockiness isn't just wit but feels natural to a guy who is trying to sell death and play it cool. he IS cocky. Captain Marvel is just snarky and that's it.
also, when you're only character trait for half of the movie is being snarky, it feels unnatural sometimes. it's just feels forced when the movie doesn't give you anything else. so yeah.
oh I forgot the biggest weakness of the character: being too good. her whole stuff is being the best but holding back because she is the best and the movie need to happen. at least Hulk has rage problems? CM's big flaw is being the best at stuff.
anyways normalize not rationalizing why the thing you like is good and everybody who don't like it is wrong. just be a grownup and don't give a shit about people hating the stuff you love? idk, I love The Last Jedi and I don't care that a lot of people really hate it :P
