When it comes to Club Penguin, there's not much evidence for birth. Age is measured in days, and new penguins spawn looking fully grown.
In Experimental Penguins, we can see that "newborns" spawn right out of the ground sporting a natural blue hue.

Actual younglings have only been depicted a few times, such as in Parent Tools and Card-Jitsu Snow. They are shown to be slightly smaller than the average penguin.
Penguins' bodies change with age, as demonstrated by Rockhopper and Sensei.
By age 13, Rockhopper already had a full black beard.
Sensei had a similarly colored beard when he was younger, though it grew gray over time along with his feathers.

As for deaths, things get a bit complex, involving time travel, uncles, other species, and more. We'll discuss all recorded deaths at a later date.
(Worth noting: the average IRL penguins have a lifespan of 20 years.)

So what does this tell us about the penguins?
-They are "born" by spawning out of the ground
-Their natural color is blue
-Penguins are capable of growing hair by age 13
-Any feathers and hair turn gray with age

Bonus: This "old" penguin is worth noting, given the 20-year lifespan. His gray feathers have been covered with blue paint, and he uses a cane similarly to Rockhopper and Sensei.

Interesting catch by @MetaVaria - the fireplace furniture item does feature a family portrait.
