#2020inReview #YearinReview

For the last 8 years, I used to write an annual letter to my family & share with my friends, mainly about financial planning.

This year I am breaking the tradition.. reflect on life, experiences & lessons on this new found medium i.e. Twitter

1/
In this thread, I may tag some people based on context. Hence, my apologies for tagging on this thread without prior notice.

2020 has been a year of change, perhaps a permanent one & quite frankly for the better. I believe there is a plan in everything almighty does..

2/
This too has been part of the same. When I started the year, I was still trying to find my feet (yup.. that's right) in my new job. Always with a doubt in the back of mind, this was perhaps one of the challenging aspects of my professional career...

3/
Just when I was supposed to travel to US, God directed me in the correct direction. Else, I may have been stuck for more than 6 months now.

With an elderly father at home, this would have put enormous stress on me.. Blessed I was, I escaped this with a whisker

4/
Covid has been life changing & as I often keep repeating, this would be once-in-a-lifetime experience which we will share with generations to come.

Lockdowns, hardships became the new reality... I always believe in one aspect, which I hold dear to my heart..

5/
Adversity brings out either the very best or the worst in humans. I was fortunate enough to observe the large hearted behavior of some angels.

Thank you @venkatesh_rvk14 for being a shining example in these fractured times.. One more example is @/Mahesh10816

6/
These gentlemen were absolute role models helping the needy. One specific incident that will remain etched is the effort put to save a calf by @IAnnapurnna , @chinku_sk and finally @venkatesh_rvk14 who finally ensured that it reached a Go-Shala.

7/
This incident revealed power of SM which can impart a positive change in the society.

Twitter has been a mixed experience, but I would put it in one word: EDUCATIONAL

If harnessed, this is an amazing repository of wisdom. If allowed to become overbearing, it can do damage

8/
Personally, I have been blessed to interact with many intellectuals like @/swamy64 , @ProfMKay , @chittukuruvi4 , @wataboutery ..

Met some long lost school mates, college mates.. made some friends for life.. some transcended to be the siblings I never had..

9/
Mind you Twitter hasn't been a rosy ride. I have had my share of bitter experiences. My honesty / simplicity was taken advantage of... some experiences were.. let's say better not to write..

Anyways, I THINK I have learnt to ride this maze with some amount of caution

10/
Personally, I would say this year was one of rekindling or rather rediscovering my original purpose of life... Embracing the spiritual bent of mind.

No travel to office meant I could spend a lot more time on my journey / endeavor to learn more about our ancestry

11/
It has helped me evolve as a human and bear some of the otherwise uncomfortable situations in life.

I would definitely recommend others to give this a thought and spend some amount of time in their life on conversations with the Divine

12/
Human mind is one fantastic machine.. As they say, it can loop some recent contexts.. especially fears.. Amidst all the uncertainty around, Fear becomes the overbearing emotion..

Being in similar boats, I am sure my brother @HelloNNewman would agree with me on this

13/
As they say, every cloud has a silver lining. Spiritual endeavor helped me to deal with this constant fear and manage the same.

Personally, I am also able to make peace with certain aspects of life esp. Career and left everything in almighty's hands

14/
What this year did to me is a MIRACLE. All entirely due to the almighty's blessings..

I was able to follow my anushtanams .. be able to follow the vrathas / festivals in a detailed manner. The fact that I could pull out 20 naivedyams during Dasara is definitely a miracle

15/
Ability to perform Abhisheka at home, be able to read Vishnu Sahasranama every day (I used to do this in Bus till last year).. these are some of the positive impacts of the year..

The ultimate blessing was organizing the VSN chanting.. Thank you @srigans for the trigger

16/
As I prepare to face one of the most interesting aspects of my life... both Career and Life wise, I am sure the experiences of 2020 will stand me in good stead.

2021 is just a reference point where I am trying to recalibrate and prepare to face the unknown

17/
Thank you for being with me on this journey and blessing me with your guidance. Look forward to a more enriching and definitely better 2021 for all.

सर्वे भद्राणि पश्यन्तु

ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ॥
