Have a look on a sample of the Dong development: This minority has no written language, only a spoken language. The risk is that this language gets lost. Chinese Scholars try with the support of the local government to keep this language by using pinyin letters to conserve them.
The Dong region was always in the past a poor farmer region. Rice fields and tea. Not enough to develop wealth for all of them. But they are living in a beautiful landscape.

Asking big tourist groups to invest and make the big money ? That is the western way. The local government had a better idea. They provided an area where the people could build and invest in a nice Hotel, developed the villages and teached the farmers how to make invest. :
In this case 50 families invested in 2018 to 2019 each 50.000 RMB together in a Hotel group on a beautiful mountain. Already in 2019 they could gain 4000 RMB as profit from this idea. Now the villagers are working for their own Hotel and have a stable income.
The village also take advantages. Tea shops, restaurants and small regional products.
