Multiple issues lead me to believe the entire story as propagated could be a fabrication. foremost Mr EVR himself has written an autobio that covers his life from birth to about 1920.. not a mention about this or that he became an ascetic

in this bio -- the account is not believable. After the humiliation .. he enrols himself in a mutt. the sadhus there force a discipline on him. that he has to take bath everyday.. now his aversion to bath/brushing is well known. hence he faked it and was caught.. ? the problem..

the account records : he smeared himself with sacred ash (vipoothi) .. this is where it gets off the track. Unlikely a ruling class background Naidu/Naicker (of that age) would ever do that.. his father was a staunch Vaishnavite

Also this doesnt gel.. because obviously he recognizes that the sadhus practice certain austerities that are not possible for him hence certain privileges recognizing those aus terities are not out of place. Doesnt work..

Also EVR was a very prominent man in Erode even prior to 1905.. his father ran the biggest mandi there. So if he disappeared between 1905 and 1907.. (3 yrs) then there must have been a major story and police manhunt. No records of that.

The story goes -- his sanyaasa was accompanied by two people tanjore Venkratama Iyer and coimbate Ganapati Iyer.. together they spent nearly 2 yrs(?) preaching in Hyderabad area.. what happened to these two Iyer??

such companionship is hardly forgettable ?

I confronted a D over this.. his response was dont take it literally periyar is not a person it is an 'idea'. yaar cmon..

amazing. no one thought it worthwhile to fact check even at this level. this is something ONLY TB need to do.. cuz this incident embellished the way it has been wields phenomenal power to turn the masses against TB. i gotta start from zero.

why not put down the newyorker? and .. how deep are people really even into the newyorker stuff? perhaps superficial and more of signaling value?

what we need to understand - are boundaries. some things need to be done by TB alone.. others can be done by the JeMos. Even the Kasi incident if it happened in a Nagarathar mutt they dont need to respond. The way it has been framed.

the nagarathar patrons of the mutt were brainwashed by the cunning TB..who sucked their money (patronage) .. that is the message. They are in victim bucket.. even more so than the actual dalit who is entirely out of the scheme of things. why would they give that up?
