osdd and did are dissociative disorders which are caused by severe and/or repeated trauma at a young age (before the ages of 7-9).
why is osdd/did formed?
during a traumatic experience, a child will often be in denial that this experience could be happening to them. this could result in extreme dissociation, essentially forcing another part of the brain to endure this pain for them. this causes a split.

typically, a child's personality integrates (becomes fully developed/whole) around the ages of 7-9.
