I have to state this personally about the recent Tropical Rouge discourse: people simply asking or being disappointed about none of the girls being dark skinned isn't a bad thing and I was confused, too. To imply "that isn't for Japanese children" is wild and an issue in itself.
It's also not some misinterpretation when you legit are like, implying somehow kids media=not addressing or having dark skinned characters... as if they aren't people, including children.
People online: "W-well why don't you wait for rep/um anyways having dark skin in fantasy is unrealistic
." The shit y'all watch be having girls with technicolor hair, cats that can talk, legit MERMAIDS and you think that dark skin is the "fantasy" part. OK.

Between the people in the magical girl community who dismiss everything not popular in the genre and the ones who demand to be educated about everything the ones like this are the worst. It's vile, I'm not here for it, and it's a terrible take. That's me putting it lightly.
