So I debated posting about this because it's not about the clout, its about the actions. The only reason I decided to is to show folx what it takes.

The term mutual aid is intimidating and can seem overwhelming. It was to me.

It's not, mutual aid is whatever you can do.

I decided I wanted to feed 30 people. That sounded like a manageable number. I settled on a menu:

1 PBJ sandwich
1 clementine
1 package of cookies
1 protein bar
1 bottled water
1 capri sun
Mouth wash
Mask
1 pair of socks

It all fit in a large lunch bag.

Total cost $250

It took about an hour to prep. Food safety and covid protocols maintained.
My partner and junior comrade helped.
In the end all the brown bags went into grocery bags to transport.
I set out looking for folx and camps to give to. That was much harder than I thought.
For dignity sake I took no pictures of those in need.
I saw two men in the median of Leesburg Pike panhandling, one has 2 kids, so they got 4 meals.
I saw another man standing in the median of the Whitehurst Freeway. He has 2 kids also, so he got 3 meals.
I saw a camp by the Watergate complex with 4 people, so I gave out 4 meals.
I found another little camp at Samuel Gompers Park with 4 people, so I gave out 4 more meals (half gone now).
Driving around not seeing people. Plenty of camps but no people. Please leave a comment if it's OK to leave meals at tents - I didn't feel good about it.
Drove down I St and saw the Black Lives Matter wall at Lafayette Square. Fuck the pr**d b*ys.
I turned a corner and saw our good comrades from @FoodNotBombsDC at McPherson Square. I asked them if I could give them the rest and helped hand them out.

Big shout to those comrades doing great work.
In the end it took about 4 hours including prep and travel time and cost $250 like I said before.

I'd like to hear from more experienced comrades about ways to make it go further, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
This is what it takes to build revolutionary spirit, except a whole lot more of it.

Who feeds us? We feed us.

❤🖤❤🖤✊

Solidarity comrades.
Update to this: I'm going to buy one of the ingredients everytime I go to the store and assemble the bags when they're all bought.
