While we foot the bill for Trump’s security when he plays golf, walls off the WH, or installs his armed entourage at a Trump hotel, security for those he has threatened, & THEIR FAMILIES, falls to them. I’m thinking Dr Blasey-Ford, @kathygriffin, Stormy Daniels & 100s more.

He has brought crisis to the lives of so many individual Americans whom he attacks by name. He turns private citizens into political prisoners every time he scorches the earth with lawsuits & activates his online brownshirts. In any other country @amnestyusa would get involved.

Many of us have had a taste of rank-and-file rightwing trolls. Rape imagery, Auschwitz and, lynching imagery. But this is exponentially worse. You can’t leave your house. You have to move, change your name. The FBI has to evaluate the death threats & sometimes they’re credible.

It’s also VERY hard for people to talk about Trump’s attacks, threats, harassment because they feels so pointed & sometimes, as with Kathy, even your employer & colleagues pile on. Remember these very campaigns are what keep Republicans from breaking ranks. They’re extortion.

These are human rights violations. Exactly the kind of thing I used to try to address in other countries when I wrote letters for Amnesty International.
