Like mentioned in the earlier thread, gay/het were not topics the Medieval Norse would have cared about. For them, men played on the manly/unmanly scale, whereas women... could do quite a lot without it being considered unusual. For women, seems like the main two things that -
- could bring bad reputation were either repeatedly refusing to marry (would eventually be suspected as fear of penis)(and that was embarrassing), or hanging around a particular man too much (obvy a relationship then).
It's kinda unclear if a woman would even be accused of anything other than being a lech, should she be caught with another woman. If she even would be - the Norse house had rooms so feminine, that stepping one foot in would have mean unmanliness, so... yeah.
So! If your Medieval Norse are women, they can be really handsy with each other, as long as they're in the same social level, OR the one initiating is in a higher position. A slave has no business touching a freewoman without permission/orders to do so.
You can even have women share bed completely naked, and have lifelong close relationships with each other. As long as they marry and have kids, they're p safe.

AND IN HIS LATER YEARS THIS HAPPENED ANYWAY. You see, another thing that makes you unmanly is growing old! There's even a saying - the older the unmanlier - that Egill himself quotes. Btw to his last days he always preferred to be around women rather than men.
For cuddles the same rules apply as for women: look at social standing and conditions, then pile your vikings accordingly!

- would have had a position as an almost-family-member. This is a myth. The only time I've seen this apply is in any way is when Höskuldur buys Melkorka, has her as his sex toy/concubine, and upon finding out she's a princess sets her free and accepts their kid as a legal one.

Oh, unless you're a married couple, then it's obvy fine, and a sign of a good match-making! Sometimes cuddling w your ex is also socially understandable, in cases where your father in law has forced a divorce on u (he might still do his best to kill you tho).
