First ten minutes w/ @Amazon Echo Show 8: clunky and buggy.

Got a 20c pw & 2FA. Had to enter it instead of auto-on boarding with Alexa App.

UI looks like a badly-adapted Alexa app. It won’t start Netflix.

I couldn’t find one of the apps. Had the wrong #AWS region selected. 🤣
Really glitchy touch input causing erratic scrolling. The whole row is a button target, so scrolling causes a button press visual feedback event, but the button doesn’t activate.

The team that designed this most definitely still uses Nokia candybar phones...
Netflix still wouldn’t start after an OS upgrade. Alexa would respond “Here’s Netflix,” but nothing happened.

Also, can we get a streamlined login process for the partner apps? I don’t want to AGAIN open 1Password and type in a 20-character password for @Netflix, @Hulu, etc.
The weather app lets you swipe to get more info, but there’s no visual indicator that it’s swipeable, nor when you’ve hit the end.

Clunky and sometimes unresponsive Prime Video app...
Netflix DID finally start and I got signed in.

This device is inexpensive and the experience you get matches the price. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. IMO it’s an underpowered 2015 Android tablet running in kiosk mode glued to a speaker.
“...but Alexa is better with voice control!”

Well, sorta...

One bright spot:
#Arlo integration works! And it’s much improved from months ago when it took a minute to connect.
