Sitting in mall on boxing day as parental monitor for small group of friends first ever shopping trip with chore earnings and Xmas $$. Thinking about middle school and life steps.

First job, babysitting from age 10.

Then, tutoring all through high school.
Then secretarial. 1/4
Dad made me take typing in high school "so that you'll always have something to fall back on." Do type fast to this day.

Then electric meter reader. Negative: dog bites. Positive: great exercise.

Then 20 hrs a week in college in retail in kitchen store for first two years. 2/4
Then 20 hrs a week for jr and senior year for NJ appellate lawyer; also helped him write a book on NJ search and seizure law.

Then won Marshall scholarship to grad school in England. First thought, "thank God, 2 of the next 50 years paid for."

People sometimes ask me why 3/4
I work so hard. Answer is...was raised to. It's what I've always done. I thank my parents profoundly for the life they gave me, & the example of energy, dedication, and commitment. I've been given so much, and I'd like to clear a path for others.
Just reflecting in a mall.
Fin.
Oops.... left one off. Bussing tables in local restaurant. Abusive owners. Quit quickly. Never got paid for time I did put in....
