I always love revisiting the clash between Du Bois and Washington. In some ways I feel like there is a similar ideological clash inside us black Christians fighting for justice. Unfortunately, I think some get falsely placed on one side or the other and it’s a real shame.

I also think this clash is happening more so backstage and via hushed tones and ear whispering. Eventually, I think it won’t be able to stay that way. Hopefully folks can learn from one another and see that neither “side” has the 100% correct approach.

As I have examined Du Bois and Washington throughout the years, I’ve always sided more with Du Bois but there’s also a lot to take from Washington and to fully despise what he has done would be a misstep imo. There’s so much to learn from both.

There’s much we can learn about what to do and not to do.
