We're NOT going to pretend that Yuzu has not unequivocally made his views on skating in a pandemic clear in the name of his mental health.
Is the pandemic hard on mental health? Yes, it really is.

Is risking lives better for mental health? Absolutely not.
Forcing people into risky situations is also bad for their mental health. FFS. It's not an either or situation. How do you think a skater's going to feel if their coach dies from COVID because they had to accompany them to skate?
What do you think it does to people's mental health to know that the people in charge of the sport are weighing the risk to them against the broadcast money, and coming out in favor of the broadcast money?
This year is hard because it's a hard situation. It is JUST HARD. It is not going to get easier because we want it to.
There are people who get to see coworkers every day, something I wish I could do at this point in isolation, but I do not think my mental health would be better if I had their jobs. I think it would be a LOT worse.
Fuck I want this pandemic to be over. It's not great for my mental health. That's why I wish to fuck we would all do our best to control the spread of COVID so that as vaccines start rolling out, we can get back to normal as fast as possible.
I just do not understand people who would not fall into a depressive spiral realizing that someone else died because they chose to pretend nothing was happening, and then claim they care about mental health.
