The Seattle Seahawks D/ST might be the perfect example of how quickly things can change over the course of an NFL season.

(A QUICK THREAD)
After allowing an average of 298.1 passing yards per game over their first eight contests this season, the Seahawks have allowed under 240 passing yards in each of their past six.

Since Week 12, only four teams have allowed fewer passing yards than Seattle.
Over the past 4 games, the Seahawks are tied for 3rd in sacks and tied for 1st in QB hits.

Acquiring Carlos Dunlap from the Bengals and getting Jamal Adams back from injury truly revolutionized this defense. Their pass-rushing prowess was the missing link that Seattle needed.
The added pressure they've been placing on opponents has also resulted in them forcing four interceptions over the last four games.

Over the past six games, the Seahawks D/ST is tied for sixth in fantasy points per game.
While it is true that the Seahawks have faced some pretty lackluster offensive competition lately, they still deserve credit for the exponential improvement their D has made.

They are no longer a smash matchup for opposing fantasy QBs and WRs every single week.
I'm not saying that you should sit your studs against Seattle.

Rather, I'm reminding you to always keep tabs on recent trends when assessing fantasy matchups. Through Week 16 Seattle has still technically allowed the most passing yards in the league overall...
But, again, this comes with shades of grey.

Always, always be sure to look at the past few weeks as well as season-long data. And, most importantly, don't always fall for Twitter groupthink!!!
Best of luck in your Week 16 matchups this week, folks.

Bring home that title!
