Its just occurred to me that I should probably explain what is going on and *why* I've done what I did.

WE FINNA GET TECHINICAL UP IN HERE. I'm gon learn you some shit. https://twitter.com/VeeSnowtail/status/1342854749905940481
The Abarth 595 utilizes FCA's 1.4l "T-Jet" 4 Cylinder engine, which was previously the 1.4 FIRE(Fully Integrated Robotised Engine; Circa 2003) utilized in non-turbo format in vehicles like the Punto and Stilo. MUCH larger cars with bigger engine bays than the 500.
As a result of this, the Abarth requires specialist oil, by virtue of how H O T this thing runs. The 10W-50 Selenia Racing Abarth oil is the lifeblood of this engine and 90% of the reason it can run reliably in this format. The standard oil pan holds 2.5l of the stuff-
-which is plenty for normal road use.
If you think of oil as both a lubricant and a coolant, it basically serves as a "battery" of heat for the engine, storing it until it can be dissipated in a controlled manner via the radiator or dedicated oil cooler(the latter, I lack)
Prometeo's solution to this for High Performance applications where the vehicle is producing much more heat than normal is simple: Make the Battery Bigger.
An additional 2l of oil capacity allows overall cooler oil temps, meaning the oil is less likely to reach its perish point.
When oil "burns"/perishes it turns acidic, losing all its lubricative properties and effectively killing the engine from the inside; you don't want that. Which is why this is such a critical modification for racing/tracking the Abarth.
Prometeo's stainless sump guard is a shiny piece of bling but also necessary, as the factory sump guard *will not* fit over the Prometeo sump's outer dimensions. The steel guard protects while also directing airflow towards the sump allowing it to dissipate heat as well.
For the cost of all this; I could easily have made more power than I am currently. But doing so would have come at the cost of the longevity of my engine.
This, to me, is the right direction to head in first.
