Thread: #Tuchel | If our ONLY concern was simply finding a manager who would make us better on the pitch, then there are few better we could potentially draw than TT. Fantastic tactical mind. Would in all likelihood bring the 4-3-3 most of us want to see (1/15) #AFC #Arsenal
Though he was critical of Aubameyang's work-rate at times, Auba was fantastic under him from a performance standpoint. So too was Ousmane Dembele, who seamlessly fit into the system when he joined from Rennes. This is a large plus-point in his corner (2/15)
A real emphasis is always placed on wide areas in his tactical ethos, which would be an exciting proposition for Arsenal when we consider the attacking players we have at the club at current, and also coming through; likes of Pepe, Saka, Martinelli, Nelson... (3/15)
An ability to be more direct and incisive would also be found in equal measure; one of the reasons why Aubameyang became so ruthless during Tuchel's tenure was Dortmund's ability to build play but also play direct and at pace...really attacking space behind (4/15)
We've seen similar at PSG with Neymar, Mbappe, Di Maria et al. in many ways. It's hard to look past how good we could be in tactical terms, but unfortunately for Arsenal, so much more must be considered...and there is where issues with the appointment would arise for me (5/15)
The quick explanation is there is a reason he has left unceremoniously and in the wake of drama at Mainz, Dortmund, and now PSG. For me, a real Jekyll & Hyde manager. (6/15)
There is a major difference between being passionate, headstrong, and borderline uncompromising as a manager. In many ways, these can manifest themselves positively. But Tuchel struggles to concede to positions of power above him. (7/15)
Fall-outs with the hierarchy at Mainz, a huge blow-up with Watzke/Zorc at Dortmund, and similar with PSG in the immediate aftermath of his sacking. Despite his success on the pitch at all three, it's never been enough to persist with him. That's telling. (8/15)
It's hard to look at the current structure at the Emirates and see a way he doesn't eventually clash with Edu in terms of squad building; it would not be the first time TT threw his toys out when he didn't get his way regarding transfers in (9/15)
The same can be said when it comes to player sales as well, and much of this can be found during his time in the Ruhr valley. Tuchel unfortunately would probably be best in a Wenger-type role...where he essentially has full control. Wont be happening w/KSE (10/15)
As a fanbase, Arsenal fans demand a connection to the club, the players, and the manager as well - this is a big reason why Arteta received & continues to in many circles - so much support. Tuchel would be far more frustrating in this arena... (11/15)
Cold, calculated, and poor regarding man-management on mountains of occasions, he also struggles with his ability to genuinely connect to a club or its fanbase on the whole. and truthfully, if Arteta struggled similarly, he'd have a mush shorter leash with our lot (12/15)
End of the day, this is hardly a simple rebuild...where the manager only has to come in and get a tune out of the string section. This is a massive job, hardly as simple as "win Ligue1 and get us to the CL promise land." (13/15)
His tactical genius is not enough to guarantee us a return to the top four, and all his negatives regarding relationships and a historic track record of fall-outs make it a bigger risk despite the gravitas attached to his name (14/15)
Don't forget; for all of his revitalizing Dortmund, he only had a single DFB Pokal win to show for it, which is a far cry from all of Klopp's achievements at the Westfalenstadion. For me, he is simply not worth the risk. #AFC (15/15)
