I’ve heard so many people say that someone got COVID, even though they “did everything right.”

And, dear ones, with respect, none of us can do everything right. We’ve been set up in an environment where it’s impossible to do everything right.

We are all choosing which risks are worth it to us, and which aren’t.

The best we can say is that we mitigated all the risks we could, and tried to choose the least dangerous option, based on the info we had at the time.

I think we might do better if we’re honest about that.

And this isn’t an excuse. Do the best you can, with the information you have. Seek out as much info as you can. Reduce your risks. For your sake, and for the sake of others.

But let’s not pretend that any of us are truly safe right now. The numbers are bad.
