At this point, I know people are going to look at the DFO characters and see which one they want in, so a brief rundown
Blade Master - He uses every sword in the MMO. Depending on what weapon he uses changes how each move functions. Probably a stance character in a fighting game
Soul Bender - Tombstones and spirits. He would place down spirit circles that would debuff enemies, and the tombstones would do the same + damage.
Since it's first awakening, I'd just say oki character
Berserker - Former number ine China favorite class. Berserker gimmick was more damage at low HP. Had a vacuum pull move and is pretty much a gorilla. Rushdown.
Asura - In the later awakenings called Thunder God. He uses electric powers. Most of the time he's throwing out a barrag of projectiles. His awakening put him into a mode that changes his moves. Probably zoner.
Ghost Blader - Similar to Soul Bender but not really. He can summon a spirit that will replicate his moves along with allowing him to change positioning. This doppelganger from DMC.
Sword Master - while having weapon effects like Blade Master, she is more known for being able to change her element of thr weapon and having proc effects from them. She's a bit more similar to Iai stances then Blade Master.
No she isn't Vergil.
Demon Slayer - Think of Ivy from Soul Calibur and give her the ability to summon hellspawns. She will control the mid range and long range.
Vagabond - 100% the character that looks super flashy only to look flashy. She uses two swords and moves the fastest compared to the other FSlayers.
Rush down and probably execution heavy.
Dark Templar - This class is all about darkness. Super holds in the MMO that leaves enemies unable to move for over 30 seconds if you do it right.
Setplay.
Fighters time.
Nen Master - Since it seems like the characters are based on their first awakenings, the difference between the two aren't that noticeable. They are electric users who uses Ki as their powers. They WOULD have been the shoto characters
FStriker was shown in the trailer.
Do you like punching? Punching? A lot? Throwing hands? Yeah. She's the Brawler archtype. In game she has a muscle shift gimmick which gives her the equivalent of rekkas in a fighting game.
MStriker is more like a kung fu movie but on fire.
Brawlers - These two fight dirty. They do status ailments in the MMO. Bleed, stun, poison, a net that pulls you closer. FBrawler is more heavy on the poison while MBrawler throws objects at you.
If either of them make it one is rush down and other is zoner
Grappler - I don't need to explain what archtyoe he's going to be, but I can say he's pretty fast in game. Something worth noting that grapplers in DFO have a buff that let's them slide during grab animations. Don't be surprised if he Luigi wave dashes to you and scoops you.
MRanger - Shown in the trailer. You are Dante in Gunslinger mode. Despite having a gun, the playstyle in game is actually mid to close range. If you like cool characters you will gravitate to him.
Franger is actually different. She's more close range compared to her male counter part, because she's more kick heavy. She also has gunblades so some of her gun kata will have more range.
Launcher - Big guns. You will sit full screen and zone your opponent out. FLauncher is all about flamethrowers and gatling guns
MLaucncher is laser cannons. He even fires a space laser.
Mechanic - The male and female variation are different.
Male Mech wants to summon robots to blow them up. He doesn't really fight himself.
F. Mech summons robots to actually fight for her using the G Series. They would both have some set ups with him, but won't be close range.
Spitfire - Elemental change guns and grenades. What makes them different is M.Spit stays on the ground and shoots people. Calls in the girls for backup.
F. Spit is the only character in the MMO who has multiple jumps in the air and she can stall by shooting and dropping grenade.
Lancer time
Vanguard - Easiest example is he is Lu Bu from Dynasty Warrior. He swings big and heavy.
Skirmisher - His gimmi ck is after images. He can throw out one of his skills, then cancel out of it leaving the animation of the move behind. This character could have some grime set ups.
Impaler - He uses darkness and throws spears at people. The spears do status effect. He's going to zone you out. His basic attack animation even changes to throw spears at you.
Dragoon - Do you play Dragoon in FFXIV? Is Kain your favorite Final Fantasy character? Dragonic Lancer, or Dragoon is probably for you then. He is certainly flashy and has spears on his back to follow up on his attacks.
Lancers are done. Time for Agents who are the most recent job class in DFO
Secret Agents - Silencer pistol, big sword. He's pretty flashy and does a lot of damage in the MMO. His gimmick was doing more damage on specific targets. He would be rush down.
Hitman - Maybe Secret Agent isn't for you. Maybe you want to be louder, and faster and somehow more flashy. Hitman uses a shorter katana compared to secret agent, but comes with a SMG. He will send a barrage of attacks at you in quick succession. Also rushdown heavy
Troubleshooter - Do you like explosions? Do you like shotguns? That's what this subclass does. He blows everything up. Stealth was never an option for you, and you want to blow up the entire building from the outside.
Specialist - Hacker man. He's going to have oki set ups. He uses a core blade as his main weapon. He can also set up walls using technology (space stone in MvCI).
FMage time
Elementalist -
She uses different elements. Mage type character. She will be the zoner and Dare I say as close as you're going to get to Nine the Phantom.
Summoner - You want ZERO interaction. You sit there, and summon monsters to do your work. In a fighting game, since she has multiple summons think of potentially Zappa at worst. At best, maybe Relius. She will certainly be a puppet character
Battle Mage - she will most likely be the FMage to be added. She uses a spear and has transformations that make her stronger (install). Her other gimmick is chasers where she can get elemental orbs for hitting something
Witch - Cagliostro or Kokonoe without a hesitation. Her whole thing is summoning stuff and and dropping it on the field. She has wacky skills like a car drill, and furnace pot, a machine that fires a giant fist out of it, an electrical pole powered by a bike. She can airdash.
Enchantress - IF Summoner isn't thr puppet character Enchantress will be. She is the Gothic Lolita girl with the creepy teddy bear. Think of Lieselotte from AH.
MMages -
Elemental Bomber - I can see this character being meter hungry since his thing was canceling one skill into another skill to do a ton of burst in a short time frame. He can choose his element and blow up the screen. Mid-range and probably zoner.
Glacial Master - He freezes people and is fast. Considering who is developing this game, I would not be surprise if he has rest and freeze moves and he set plays you.
Swift Master - Power of the storm. He's another character with an airdash, and is one of the fastest characters in the MMO. He can pull, push, and move enemies around. This character would mix your shit up if he's in the game
Vampire - He is literally Alucard from Hellsing. He can drop his familiars to do his work and do what he wants. He does have two gauges to manage. MP and blood meter. Don't be surprise if he has life steal or a way to take meter from you to refill his blood gauge.
Dimension walker - In the MMO this guy was set up heavy. He also had two resources to manage. One was a cube meter which would vacuum people. Another was a bar that would alter how a move would function. He also could put a debuff on a enemy and certain moves would react-
Differently if it was on or off. This means dimension warping to that target. He also had a summon that could warp to that same target and hold or hit them. This character would probably be the hardest to put in a fighting game and if they did, the hardest to learn
M Priest Time
- Sader
Number one class in DFO day one. Best buffer in the game. He has a hammer he can drop down from the heavens and swing around. He could also put up barriers and walls to push people away or in-between them.
Idk if you could really put him in the game
Monk - Do you like Akihiko or Dudley? This is your character. He has Duck and sway. he slams a totem into the ground and runs hands. He ONLY punches people. He even has machine gun blow.
Exorcist - This is an odd character. He has two fighting style depending if he's using beads or an axe. Axe make him a slow hard hitting beast while magic gives him talisman setups. He can be the stance change character switching between heavy hitter to set up.
Avenger - He runs around with a scythe and has demonic ability because he left the church because he became an imposter.
Two things worth noting. He has Two installs.
First one called Metamorphosis allows demonic claws to come out after each attack
Demonize is the other one
Demonize transforms him into a demon. This amplifies some of his skills doing additional damage and giving them addition perks. Besides Monk, this is the other potential option I would like to see.
FPriest now -
FSader - Number two ranked DFO class because she's also a support. This one is even less likely to be dlc because she's more support heavy than the male counter part. She can swing a giant gross around and an aura that acts as a barrier.
Inquisitor - Seen in the trailer, Inquisitor is an axe wielding pyro maniac. A lot of people are going to think Jalter since she does burn people on a Cross. Her whole gimmick is in fact burning people and holding them for days. Her moves are slow but have armor and hit hard
Shaman - Have y'all played IAMP or any Touhou fighting game? That is what she would play like. She will zone you out and set you up as she's keeping you away. If you like spiritual dragon aesthetic, this is your character.
Mistress - Another Scythe user with a demonic transformation. She's known for debuffing enemies and luring them into their own doom. As for playstyle, probably rushdown. Her gimmick was depending on which demon sigil you choose, her aura would have a different effect
THEIF NEXT
Rouge - This character has a lot of APM to play. Her awakening literally made her faster and turn her single hit moves into multi hits. This character will definitely be closer to chipp in terms of speed if she gets added.
Necromancer - This is the third potential puppet class. She has 3 summons. Nicholas who has abilities of spiders. Throwing out webs thay holds people. Summons zombies, and her Vallacre which is pretty much a P4A character.
Kunoichi - Famous for kill the FPS of many DFO players, this is the ninja character, but to your surprise not the speed kind of ninja. She's the shadow clone, summon toads ninjutus type of Ninja. This class is a zoner and puts so much stuff on the screen it's obnoxious.
Shadow Dancer
This is the Thief class I want. Her gimmick is backstabbing and I want to see how they pull it off. When this class backstabs a enemy she gets a special animation that does more damage. She has ways of getting around enemies to perform these. Assassination technique
Knights Next
Elven Knight - This is who I'd like to see in the fighting game. Her gimmick was just frames. She had a time based system that gives her an additional follow up with each skill she did. Each successful timing would increase her damage of you hit the timing
Chaos - another summon class. She can make her summons blow up, hit them so they do more damage, etc. She was notorious for being one if the best damage dealers on release. The adds she summons aren't big so they will be more for set ups if she makes it in
Dragon Knight -
She will be like Zooey in GBVS. Her shield is also a hand cannon. She has flight and an airdash. She can also call her dragon to do stuff and flight on her dragon.
Paladin -
Well... She's a Paladin. She can reduce the damage her party will take and protect them by standing in front of them. She's incredibly straightforward
Thr last two class is Dark Knight and Creator.
Dark Knight uses other MSlayer skills but can chain them together for more damage.
Creator was point and click FMage class that can drop different skills on the enemies for a duration of time.
Jesus Christ there's a lot of classes in this game lmfao. If you want to see more, I suggest looking through the DFO wiki or YouTube some videos, tho with third awakening happening it would probably make you more interested in playing the MMO than the fighting game itself.
Also If you really want to, I suggest you try out DFO for yourself. It's free to play. Level up and see how some of the classes feel.
MRanger, Zerker, Inquisitor, Fstriker, and M.Grappler were all shown today so you can see what they do in game, or try some of the other classes
