EU TOURING POST BREXIT

A thread.

Imagine you have a band.
Band releases album.
Getting a nice response in Europe.
You think yes, we should start building a live market there.
You get offered 300 Euros each for Paris, Berlin and amsterdam.
You have these costs for 6 ppl tour:

4 day tour
Van - £100 a day = £400
Petrol - £50 a day = £200
Eurotunnel - approx £150
Hotels per night (2 per room) £50 x 3 = £150 a day = £450
Carnet = £325.96 (all year)
TM = £150 a day = £600
Say Visa per person per country £100 x 6 people x 3 countries £1800

As you can see this isn’t viable.
Monies in : 900 euros minus withholding tax and exchange rate, so approx £500 if lucky.
Costs : £3975.96
= - £3475.96
Yes, it wasn’t viable before, it was tough but now it’s made it TWICE as bad

And I haven’t even considered @WeAreTheMU and session musicians.

If you needed 2 of these that would be another £1200 per tour too.

Even if this starts the conversation, that is a good thing. We need to make sure there are no barriers to touring.
