I heard PM Modi's speech yesterday. So these perspectives are primarily springing from that + my thots on this ever since it was, IMO, bombarded thru Parliament.
Lets start:
I personally agree that, as a Nation, reforms are overdue in multiple arenas. BUT,

I think A GOOD BOOMING IS A GOOD CONDUCTOR OF CHANGE. And a struggling, depressed or stagflated economy is A BAD CONDUCTOR OF CHANGE!

Then, when RBI the gr8 released the contingency reserve, I LITERALLY WENT OUT TO THE PUBLIC INTERNET CAFE AT 8.45 PM, ON TOP OF MONTHS OF ADVISING AGAINST IT HERE, TO LITERALLY PLEAD IT SHOULD NOT BE DONE!
Again, no use.
