Gonna start a thread on how to extract most of not all of the thc from buds in order to make RSO. This will allow you to make SUPER potent edibles AND make your supply last longer by using very little and getting a lot.
To start I decarb my weed. I grind everything up in a food processor because I am a firm believer in working smarter and now harder. This is about 4oz vacuum sealed
You might be wondering why I am boiling it in water. Once again work smarter not harder. I have burned weed by decarbing in the oven too many times. Boiling it ensures there’s no smell of weed and no risk of burning. (Perfect for ppl that live in apartments.
This process will take about 1-1 1/2 hours. I typically do it for an hour. Be sure to watch it though because you want to make sure that all the water doesn’t evaporate. Learn from my experience
Once it’s done decarbing you’d want to put your weed into a big mason jar and fill it with everclear and put it in the freezer. You can set it sit for 4-48 hours. The longer you let it sit the more potent it is. I’ll probably let this sit for 36 hours.
This is what it looks like immediately after pouring in the everclear.
Y’all are asking for an update so here’s where we are after 3 hours. (Take it out the freezer every so often and shake the container)
Alright guys time to finish up the thread! Just too this out the freezer about an hour ago. Gonna strain it and make som infused sugar and RSO
You’re gonna need another mason jar about the same size and a cheese cloth (this is a nut bag which I think is better and it’s reusable)
Then we strain the excess
And here is our tincture. I’m going to use half to make RSO and the other half to make some infused sugar. I’ll show both processes in the same thread

Here’s half the tincture boiling down into RSO. I just let it sit in the rice cooker and monitor the water level. The alcohol will start to evaporate off this and you’ll see the end result. Stay tuned.
The RSO is done and I wanted to add something here to add some perspective to the next step. The last time I made RSO the jar cracked and it got water in it. I thought it was ruined but it solved the problem of the RSO sticking to the glass
Once this round was almost done I added some water to it
Made 10g RSO from 2oz tree. @ the dispensary RSO is $60 a g. So you do the math.
