yes i Am a big childe simp but childe's appeal as a character is his hypocrisy/realisticness/balance with his morals, his trauma, and the way he treats people. he is NOT a selfish person outside of battle. he's the kindest/most honest harbinger we've met so far
his story quest literally calls him the defender of childhood dreams. he willingly overused his delusion/drastically injured himself to let teucer enjoy a game of hide and seek. he went so far as to humble himself in front of traveler & ask for their help for teucer's sake
he's the ONLY harbinger so far to treat the fatui underneath him kindly and patiently. la signora wasn't mean past demanding, but she wasn't friendly either. scaramouche... straight up threatens his underlings lmao. childe's a VERY kind person considering his circumstances
"but he's a bloodthirsty killer!" he was a 14 year old who fell into the abyss without a vision and had to learn how to kill just to survive. his humanity was TORN from him. despite this, there's still clearly a very human and loving side to him
