Everyone knows there’s lots of ethnic conflict in the Third World. But in Indonesia there’s racial conflict too: SE Asian Javanese vs Melanesian Papuans.
Early 60s Dutch ruled West Papua.
West Papuans wanted racial self-rule. Appealed to Africans for support explicitly as fellow Negroids.

Independence would have been a good idea. Aus and NZ supported it.
BUT Indonesia wanted to expand. They had support of the Third World.
The US foolishly supported Indonesia.
So Indonesia took over West Papua.
Ever since there has been racial conflict in West Papua.

Over the decades Indonesian settlers were sent to West Papua and the army killed plenty of West Papuans (maybe 100,000).
Today, there’s a #papuanlivesmatter hashtag. Sorry, Papuans. It is the Law of the Globe that only the White Man is prohibited from ruling other races.

Racial conflict continues. In 2019 Javanese settlers called some Papuans “monkeys”. Papuans rose up and burned government buildings. Indonesian troops plus militias (i.e. death squads) killed many Papuans. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_Papua_protests
Ultimately, few people care about racial colonialism, settlers, and race conflicts within the Third World. As long as whites are not involved, it is boring.

In 1962 the Papuan nationalists wrote to Emperor Haile Selassie seeking aid against Indonesian imperialism.
In the end, they were betrayed. The Kennedy administration, thought giving West Papua to Indonesia would be a good move in the Cold War. The Afro-Asian Third World, and the Western Left, only cared about white imperialism.
