While numbers floating around 1,000 daily seem like nothing compared to other nations, it's not going down well among S. Koreans. Also apparent lag in securing sufficient vaccines not helping. President Moon's approval rating at 37.4%, well below negative sentiment at 59.1%.

So now we've reached a point where the government has been coming up with constant and prolonged "strengthened" measures without actually raising the level quickly and decisively from early on.
