The most immediate benefits that we will see from these fresh commitments to reducing CO2 emissions and NOX pollution will come from the many new dimensions of economic activity that will be required to implement them

- new technologies

Entire new industries have been and are being created as necessary support for achieving these goals

- solar panels

- wind turbines

- storage batteries

- electric vehicles

- electric propulsion systems

- electrically powered systems of all sorts

Electricity is the new Gold

And these activities represent economic benefits that are available NOW and not just in some distant future like 2030 or 2040 or 2050

As a second-order derivative, all sorts of other initiatives become feasible because of the inherent cleanliness, reliability, efficiency, transportability and precision of electricity

Including :

- massive reductions in gross energy usage

- productive economic use of desert areas

- extended travel in tunnels and even in a vacuum

- autonomous vehicles

- improved industrial processes

And many of these have been long known but lying dormant

Once we get past some of the initial “fluff” around companies that barely deserve a second look, we should expect to see real engineers bringing new initiatives to market that will capitalize upon a new commitment to low-cost electricity on a universally available basis

Now if you are a National Leader responsible for the economic and social development of your country, you should be eager to stimulate these economic activities in your own economy

- to create jobs

- to create export opportunities

- to become leaders

And this global consensus gives you the perfect rationale for using national policies to guide intelligent economic development
