just like.. idk the way that richard “complements” camilla are so immaterial. like he’s always comparing her to things that are ancient/untouchable/that he couldn’t ever ever have. if he does compliment her body he is sure to point out the parts of her that are similar to charles
or at the very least, how “boyish” she looks, which we know also must reflect charles. when richard describes charles, he is pointed that he finds him attractive. he describes him as “far better looking” than all of them. although he does use “untouchable” descriptors for both
camilla and charles (calling him ethereal, angelic, etc), he is more concrete with him and goes further— describing the things about charles’ personality he likes, the things they do together alone, the way charles works to include him in the group and how much he appreciates it
camilla gets a far more hollow narration, which is strange for someone richard apparently is so in love with. richard also cares for charles when he is sick, lies for him to henry, and seems almost protective towards him when he can’t advocate for himself.
there’s also this comment when richard goes through all his friends trying to decide which one was gay...... like what is this richard. explain this please richard.
