Economists study EVERYTHING and there's MORE!!!
Do y'all now see why I talk so much about how it is bad that economists are mostly white men? When I say that economists everywhere, I mean EVERYWHERE.

Most companies have economists on staff, which is why diversity in the profession is absolutely necessary.
let me also give a short list of where economists currently sit (btw they stay employed even through a global pandemic):

- universities
- tech companies
- any kind of government
- data centric research
- philanthropy
- gaming companies
- office of POTUS
- hospitals
I'll end this thread with a list of other places that economists work at:

- your cable company
- environmental organizations
- the music industry
- the freaking United Nations
- news and media outlets cc @claudia_sahm @Noahpinion
- political campaigns
- Amtrak probably
#EconTwitter so the takeaway here is that economists do more than just study the economy.

And as someone who stumbled into this field, I will do my very best to share all that I know about economics and how it can be used to make the world a better place.
#EconTwitter Also, although economists sit in these spaces, they are not the (sole) experts.

Case in point: While some economists are studying COVID-19, none of them should be assumed to be experts on epidemiology itself because there are actual epidemiologists. #epitwitter
lol some of these quote tweets are confusing:

1) I'm not coming for the OP at all, just used it as a jumping off point

2) the point of this thread is to bring awareness of what the hell economists can do

#ReadingComprehensionSavesLives
Ahead of #ASSA2021, which I am pretty sure I'm not going to lol (I just forgot to get a ticket), I am re-upping this thread.
