My personal learnings from 2020 and surviving through COVID myself (thread)
Never take anything you have for granted. You may be doing well one day but be back to ground zero the next and have to start all over again.
People always underestimate how bad a crisis will be before the crisis and overestimate the damage it will do in the midst of it. Stay calm & go with your gut instinct on the most likely scenario and plan for that.
Sharing your fears and weaknesses makes you vulnerable but allows people around you to rally and help you.
If you trust, empower and treat people well in the good days, most of them will be there with you when you need their support in the bad days.
Empathy for others (family / employees / customers) can do more good for you and your business than money, resources or any other material asset ever can.
Eating healthy, sleeping well and being loved by folks around you can give you more happiness than any material wealth ever can.
Avoid knee jerk reactions or decisions. There is always more to things than what meets the eye.
Don’t fight with the ones you love. You never know how long they (or you) will be around.
Gratitude - Without the sacrifices, risky jobs and efforts of so many people who serve us, we can’t get anything done sitting at home. It is a privilege to have our military, support staff, sanitation, medical care, delivery & transport folks serving and keeping things running!
The Internet is a more powerful force for human good than we all imagine. And it is less than 1% done in that mission. The future belongs to companies who can do all the traditional non-tech stuff more efficiently with deep tech.
Brands that treat customers well in bad days will bounce back better in the good days.
