There is nothing inherently wrong with having a Christmas tree.

The issue in Jeremiah 10:1-16 is not with Christmas trees!
For on the contrary, it’s a warning to God’s people not to conform to the idolatrous customs of the pagan people groups who often made “gods” of wood, which were also plated with silver and gold, that were eventually worshiped by those pagan nations.
But merely having a Christmas tree is not idolatry!

In fact, if you have a Christmas tree, my advice to you is to do your best to make it as decoratively and meaningfully as Christian as you can.
Some might say that trees have nothing to do with Christmas but to that I respond by asking, “what was it again that Jesus came and died on?

A tree (Acts 5:30)!
In fact, for many Christians across the world, the tree is our reminder that this was the instrument in which our Savior purchased our salvation so that one day we might see the tree of life again, standing gloriously in the middle of the Holy City—New Jerusalem (Rev 22:1-2).
This is why I have a Christmas tree!

Merry Christmas everyone—from Shanna and I to you! ❤️🎄
