Through an examination of 22 conversation exchanges in pro-ISIS chats & 1,100 data points of unofficial ISIS propaganda, I explore how women are portrayed in unofficial propaganda & examine prominent themes found in the messaging. 2/10
In particular, the Telegram convos highlighted the lack of consensus regarding if or how gender segregation policies should (or should not) be applied in these virtual spaces + approaches female accounts could use to avoid restrictions - such as using a male username. 3/10
