Merry Christmas everyone! After the very last trains returned to their sheds last night we were out across the network getting work underway. The team at #HitherGreen created their own Christmas lights... /1
And this morning there was a funny old sight at Selsdon Road near #Croydon , where the old railway bridge was spirited away. Thanks to our neighbours there - as you can see they got more to watch than A Muppet Christmas Carol... /2
This is the new bridge deck at Selsdon Road waiting to be lifted into place .../3
And we're also out at #DenmarkHill where some new station canopies are being put up as part of our major improvement work there. /4
Denmark Hill is next to King's College Hospital, where many other people are working this Christmas in very difficult circumstances. While we're working hard as usual, our thoughts are with those people who are struggling this festive season and can't be with their families. /5
So Merry Christmas to everyone and we hope to see many of our passengers and friends back in 2021. The railway endures and we'll be here for you all.
