धर्म का अर्थ?
Meaning of #Dharma?
Read on.
#Krishna #Arjuna
Geeta refers to the part of The Mahabharat when the Pandavas and Kauravas went into a war. Shri Krishna, who committed to not fight a war acted as the charioteer of Arjuna. Thus the conversation turns out to be the biggest epic of all times.
The most interesting part refers to that when Lord Krishna shows his Virat Roopa Dashavatar to a demotivated Arjuna. Arjuna who loses his will to fight stands up again. This part always remains very close to my heart. Why?
Well, Shri Krishna could have ended the war with a snap of his fingers. But instead, he made Arjuna fight the entire war. This is Dharma. The supreme consciousness, the all knowing and the all powerful makes us realize that we humans cannot achieve greatness without labour.
Dharma the word is made up of two parts, धारण and कर्म।
जो धारण करने योग्य कर्म है वही धर्म है।
Meaning Dharma always means doing that which is morally correct. Bhagwat Geeta speaks of that Dharma.
Another important part of Bhagwat Geeta speaks of revenge as being the purest emotion. But Shri Krishna asks Arjuna to keep Dharma above revenge. He explains to Arjuna that during a war, each emotion including revenge should be kept aside.
कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।

मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि।।2.47।।
This is a very famous shlok, but only half preached, most people ignore the second part of it.
The first part says that keep doing your Karma without expecting any fruits.
Second part is more important, because it talks about the cycle of Karma and results.
To attain Moksha one has to distance himself from expectations, otherwise the cycle of Karma and results will continue and you will be reborn.
To achieve Moksha, every expectation must end.
Another important lesson from Geeta is about belief.
While the battle of Kurushetra was at its peak, Arjuna and Karna were fighting each other. It was a battle to witness, a flurry of arrows were being exchanged, and even Gods were witnessing this epic battle between the 2.
Arjuna would shoot his arrows and the impact of these arrows would be so much that Karna’s chariot would go back by 25–30 feet. People who witnessed this were amazed by the skills of Arjuna.
When Karna shot, Arjuna’s chariot would also shake and go back by 3–4 feet.
More than everyone, Krishna would applaud Karna every time his arrow hit Arjuna’s chariot. But not once did He applaud Arjuna’s skills.
Arjuna gets sad again, and starts asking questions.
Here, Lord Krishna smiles and explains to him that his chariot is protected by Lord Hanuman at the top on the flag, by Sheshanag by the wheels and I too stand in front with the weight of entire world. Still Karna can make the chariot move back with his arrows.
But Karna’s chariot was not protected by any such force, he was on his own.

It is said that after the battle of Kurushetra was over, Krishna refused to get off the chariot till Arjuna got down. Once Krishna alighted from the chariot, it caught fire and turned to dust.
Arjuna who is shocked too see this falls at the feet of Lord Krishna and asks for an explanation, who in turn picks him up and says
“Oh Arjuna, your chariot was destroyed by Karna a long time ago, it is I who was still protecting it.”
“Never in your life have the arrogance to say that you have achieved big heights. If you have achieved something, it is the divine will, it is the divine intervention that has always protected you, cleared your path and given you the right opportunities at the right time”
I invite all friends to further this discourse and share what they have learnt and what motivates them on reading #BhagwatGita.
Happy #GitaJayanti to all.
