Last night a family friend called me for some legal advice. She is a gynaecologist. Patient has come in for MTP. Only 15 years old. She wanted to know if she has to report it to the police
The perpetrator (if I am allowed to call him that) is a 16 year old neighbor. Both sets of parents, shocked and begging the doc not to report the matter!
How does one deal with such a situation. 15 to 16 year olds getting sexually active. The levels of exposure this generation is having, takes away innocence. The pressure of having a GF/BF starts at the age of 12!
We can no longer brush it under the carpet and say this is an American concept. This is happening very much in our own neighborhood. No point living in deniel.
Please please please toughen up! Parenting is a challenge. It's heart breaking I know when you own child says he/she does not like you. Bear it. Protect them at any cost!

Happy to receive varied opinions and note the discussions on this post. There is no set template for parenting! I agree. But in our attempt to be the cool dad or cool mom, some of us are forgetting our primary roles.. Care givers! Care over cool!
