Today is the jayanti of
Bharata Ratna, #Mahamana, #PanditMadanMohanMalviya

The Man Who Started #GangaAarati at Haridwar, founder of Banaras Hindu University.

Know why he's a legend.

#CHAURI_CHARA.

1) On Feb 5th 1922, in a small town called Chauri Chaura (Gorakhpur Dist),
people were participating in Gandhi Called Non Cooperation Movement.

2) The Police Lathicharged and then Shots were fired resulting in death of 3 freedom fighters.

3) The People got enraged with the violence & hit back, the anger was such that they burnt entire police station
which resulted in killing of 23 Policemen.

4) Gandhi got pained because of policemen's death and he called of Asahakara Chaluvali, this surprised even Nehru (Mentioned in his Autobiography)

5) The Non Cooperation Movement Was A Huge Success Bringing British To Their Knees, If
It Was Continued For Few More Days, We Would Have Got Independence Much Earlier.

But Gandhi After Denouncing Said
“INDIANS ARE NOT READY FOR FREEDOM YET”

6) The British Got A Lifeline and Acted Upon People Of Chauri Chaura Arresting Nearly 200.
6 People Died In Police Custody
and Around 180 Got Capital Punishment.

7) Gandhi Didn't Help These Innocents Instead Went To 5 Day Penance For The Death Of Policemen.

8) MADAN MOHAN MALAVIYA Who Had Vowed Not To Practice Law In 1911 Took The Matter In His Hands.

9) He Argued In Favour Of Freedom Fighters
In Allahabad High Court and Of The 170 Who Were Sentenced To Gallows, Pandit Malaviya Was Able To Release 155 persons.

10) The Remaining 15 Also Were Recommended For Clemency By The High Court, Whereafter Their Sentences Were Also Commuted From Death to Life-imprisonment.
11) During These Arguments, The Then
Chief Justice Honble Sir Grimwood Mears
Bowed Thrice to Malaviya as a Mark of Great Appreciation for the Sheer Brilliance of his Arguments.

12) If Not For Pandit Malaviya, Our Nation Would've Witnessed The Most Legalised Mass Murder Of
Humanity, 170 People Hanged Together & All Because Of Bloody Gandhi Who Rejected The Clemency Plea Of Innocents.

13) Remember Both Gandhi and Nehru Were Also Lawyers.
