Have high standards but no expectations : A Thread 
Realize that your standards are for you & your needs in a relationship; not everyone you’re interested in nor everyone that’s interested in you will meet those standards. This is where having no expectations comes into play...
You can’t go into every courtship automatically expecting this person to meet your standards nor should you force them to do so.
Instead allow them room to show you who they are & if they are able to meet your standards.

If they can not meet your standards, then that’s when you say, “goodbye” & keep it moving but not with the attitude that they’re missing out on you. No one is missing out on anyone but instead moving along to align with who’s right for them. Don’t let your ego take over.
Speaking of ego, check in with yours if you feel you just can’t date without expectations. We usually become egoistical when we’re trying to ease some type of wound within.
If you feel you can’t stick to your standards or feel you don’t have any, check in with yourself to figure out why.

They may or may not meet your standards. If they do, great. Continue building a connection, slowly & organically. If they don’t meet your standards, don’t stick around. You should know what you want & don’t want by now.

And this can really apply to ALL types of relationships. Remember, you want organic connections & not those you have to force to be the type of connection you need.
