On this day, in 1642 a boy named Isaac Newton was born in Woolsthorpe, Lincolnshire, England. Who by the age of 26 would transform the civilization as we know it and trigger the most important Scientific revolution there ever was.
Before he even opened his eyes his father had already left this world, and when he turned 3 years old his mother remarried, moved away and left him with his grandmother.
When his mother returned back, she came with a new family and this shocked our young Isaac Newton, he despised his step father, in this miserable environment Newton's only comfort his passion of how things worked especially nature itself.
As a young boy he read a book called 'The mysteries of nature and art' a book for building mechanical things; so he made little windmills, he made boats, he flew kites with candles on them which frightened the locals.
Years later he went to the Trinity College of London, Cambridge University. He had no friends, no family to provide any warmth or love, he was all alone, he mostly kept things to himself.
He studied ancient Greek philosophers, geometry and languages, he also pondered the nature of motion, Gravity and so much more! He buried himself into his work and spent almost 2 decades in a total social and political turmoil.
There he was spitting out some of the greatest work in the histroy of science, Laws of motion, the universal law of Gravitation, he showed that white light is made of seven colours(ROYGBIV), he invented calculus to calculate the motion of moon independently
He also came up with the laws of optics, yes Newton was badass. I personally consider him the most brilliant person to ever walk the surface of the earth.
Isaac Newton was also obsessed with Bible and he wanted to figure some of the deepest messages and codes hidden in it, he read many testaments of many languages, he even did alchemy and thought to produce the elixir of life. Yes, He was a deeply religious person.
Newton was so badass that we went to the moon just by using his laws of motion and Gravitation, we send probes and robots on Mars using his work. He transcended any notion of brilliance that I have ever known.
Alexander pope once wrote a beautiful epitaph on him, here's how it goes;
"Nature and it's laws lay hid in night,
God said "let Newton be" & all was light"
"Nature and it's laws lay hid in night,
God said "let Newton be" & all was light"
I see, there are so many typos
