Arteta's squad quality.
Lot's of misconceptions about how bad Arsenal's squad is. Some say it's midtable, some say it's Europa level, some say it's top 4 level. But when you look at in depth, you can see they have a near top 4 level squad.
In my opinion, they have a squad that's at least the 6th best in the league. There's something about how a squad looks when rigid JDP system goes wrong. Everyone looks considerably worse, lacking individual quality, no flair and so on. Roboticism is simply what makes Arsenal's
players look bad. Roboticism kills individuality and when the system doesn't work, you simply get a non-functioning team. Here's a prediction, majority of Arsenal's starters, especially Lacazette, Saka, Pepe and Tierney will all start playing far better when Arteta is sacked.
Arteta's major strength is setting up a solid defense. I'd argue Arsenal are the best itl while 'parking the bus'. He should build on that in his future endeavors, while creating perhaps a less robotic system.
Back to the point, it could be that Arsenal's extreme roboticism is the byproduct of the incomplete implementation of a JDP system, which has also been seen Sarri's Chelsea and Setien's Barca. Will be interesting to see how this turns out, but the foundations are already solid.
