Like, this is not news. People have been saying Lovecraft was a tool since before I was born.
But somehow, while the retellings and reinterpretations of the greater Mythos were all straight white men, it was okay. Yeah, a racist fuck built the house, but they were renovating! Doing great things!
And then, when the women and the queers and the people of color started moving in, somehow we needed to burn everything Lovecraft had ever touched. Suddenly, it was all tainted.
Yes, it IS all tainted. Yes, it IS all built on an old, dead, racist fucker's foundations. But we're desecrating them. And some of the most beautiful, moving, world changing work in this house is coming from people...
...Lovecraft would have reviled. We're getting our nasty little hands all over his stuff. Y'all got decades before he was designated bad. Now it's our turn.
@casskhaw is doing incredible things with a dead asshole's toys. If you've ever read a word by Lovecraft, you owe it to yourself to read this. Enjoy the new decor. It doesn't want most of us here.
