The left needs to stop latching on to internet celebrities and politicians, especially ones that do no irl organizing. The class struggle doesn’t arise out of a fan base or a clique. Ditch your Breadtube favs and Senators and contribute something to the struggle, if you’re able.
Seriously. Who gives an actual FUCK about Twitter or YouTube drama? How is this helping our cause? Have some fun on Twitter and maybe learn something on YouTube, that’s fine, but latching onto people and drama is counterproductive.
I would like to dismiss this problem as a trend just among newly radicalized high schoolers, but some of y’all are grown ass adults having discourse about fucking Vaush and Merrick. Who gives a SHIT about Vaush or Merrick? What have they done for the struggle? Fucking nothing.
Have you joined a revolutionary organization or organized in your community? Have you even attended a goddamn protest? No? How many hours have you spent on social media bitching about internet celebrities?
Honestly ask yourself if you’re a communist because you want to overthrow capitalism or because you want to be a part of an internet clique.
