A thread: about the background of the Khojaly Massacre. No one should ever try to debunk something that has been this well documented. This topic is really important to me. I used bits of the official document through the UN Human Rights website.
The most brutal if the killing took place in the span of only a few hours, that is why it is called a massacre. This piece gets into the specifics—it is gory and hard to read but people must know what happened.
When looking a what constitutes a genocide, the events of Khojaly match it. This part goes more in depth in explaining that.
The part about the Armenian government denying it happening or taking responsibility sounds eerily similar to Armenians and their own genocide.
I have a hard understanding Armenian peoples’ denial of another tragic event despite all the evidence about it. I hope genocides and massacres are not things that are taken lightly by anyone. We should all learn about them and understand the hardships people have had to suffer.
