Hi! I came back on twitter to say something I think is important. I'm excited that that review is getting called out, but I hope it's just the beginning.
There are 1,000s of sexist & racist reviews just sitting on Rotten Tomatoes undermining the work of women & people of color in our industry (I include critics in that) & the integrity of the publications in which they were printed.
And this isn't about negative or positive. Plenty of positive reviews are sexist and/or racist - the review in question was "a tomato" after all.
If you know me, you know how much I respect film criticism. But a lot is changing right now for the better & this needs to be part of that change. Let's keep this energy going into 2021. We all deserve better, critics, audiences & filmmakers alike!
