If you are a woman attracted to women, you can call yourself a lesbian.

If you are a woman attracted to women and non binary people who are demigirls, or agender, or multigender, whatever, you can still call yourself a lesbian, even exclus say this. (1)

In this, you are attracted to multiple genders. The term for being attracted to multiple genders is mspec.

HOW do you people not see how mspec lesbians exist? When your own logic allows it?

and even if you ARE attracted to men, as a wlw/nblw, you can still claim the label. Because it was TERFs who decided you couldn't, half a century ago, with the political lesbian/lesbian separatist movement.

As a way to reject the patriarchy, cishet, middle class white women decided to "reject heterosexuality", and become "political lesbians", deciding their attraction to men was inherently negative, and they denied it.

To be a political lesbian, YOU DID NOT NEED TO BE ATTRACTED TO WOMEN. You simply needed to reject your heterosexuality, and refuse to form interpersonal relationships with men. That's it.

Because of this, radfem lesbians started to harass mspec women. As I'm sure you can see why. They saw their attraction to men as being "traitors to the cause", and "Upholding the patriarchy". They shunned them, and ousted them from their "pure" lesbian spaces.

The label "bi" became suddenly more popular in the 70s. It had existed for a while, I can't recall how long, but I do know it gained more use around the same time as this movement. There's a reason why.

Mspec women, shamed by terfs for their attraction they had no control over, forced out of their community by that shame, called disgusting and seen as traitors, had no choice but to band together. That's how the queer community formed to begin with, after all.

Its BECAUSE of terfs half a century ago that lesbianism is seen as anti-man. It's BECAUSE of terfs that mspec women are still shamed for their attraction to men by a lot of lesbians. It's BECAUSE of terfs that you think mspec lesbians don't exist, when they ALWAYS HAVE.

This is why it pjsses me off SO MUCH when I see baby terves on twitter parroting this rhetoric. Because this disgusting ideology that should've died off with the third wave of feminism has been brought back. You're keeping their memory alive with your hate.

You wanna know WHY we call exclus terfs? this is why. YOU'RE UPHOLDING THEIR IDEOLOGY.
