As it's Christmas tomorrow, I just want to let my followers know what Muslims think about Jesus (THREAD)
Muslims believe that Jesus is one of the most influential prophets to ever walk on this earth. He has a very high status in Islam.
We also believe that Jesus was a prophet of God and was born to a virgin, called Mary. We believe he will return to Earth before the Day of Judgment to restore justice and defeat the false messiah — also known as the Antichrist.
Mary is the only woman to be mentioned by name in the entire Qur’an. Other female figures are identified only by their relation to others, such as the wife of Adam and the mother of Moses etc. Mary is mentioned more times in the Qur’an than in the entire New Testament
There is an entire verse in the Qur'an named after her.
We believe he performed some miracles, just like other prophets. Miracles including giving sight to the blind, healing lepers, raising the dead, and breathing life into clay birds.
His first miracle is mention in the Qur'an - when he spoke as an infant in the cradle and declared himself to be a prophet of God
So what is the difference between Jesus in Christianity and Jesus in Islam? As Muslims, we believe Jesus to be a prophet of God and NOT the son of God. We believe God has no children or family, failing to acknowledge this takes you out of the fold of Islam and is a huge sin.
We also believe that Jesus was never killed, nor was he crucified. We believe he was raised by God to the heavens.
We also classify all of our prophets to be Muslim as they all believed in One God. We therefore view Jesus as a Muslim and we try to also follow the truth teachings of Jesus.
We believe Jesus to have been the precursor to the prophet Mohammed. We believe prophet Mohammed was the final prophet and seal.
We call Jesus "Isa" and Mary "Maryam". Both are inspirational figures.
As Muslims, we do not celebrate Christmas as this isn't a recognised celebration in our religion. This is a discuss for another day.

Hope you all have a lovely Xmas 👋
Here's the translation of the Mary's chapter in the Qur'an.

The imam recited this chapter in front of millions of worshipers in the most sacred place for Muslims, masjid al-haram (great mosque of Makkah that surrounds the Kaaba).
